Mould Control

We have all found ourselves in that moment of dread after finding mould around the bath or sink, behind a wardrobe or a window. There are differing types of mould and some are caused by condensation, some by damp, some by lack of air circulation. There are many reasons and causes for this such as a leak, lack of ventilation, rising damp, issue with pointing etc.

Damp proofing companies can provide a comprehensive report and in the case of roofing or pointing can often fix the problem. This can run into thousands of pounds for certain problems however if it is cosmetic due to lack of air circulation for example, there is a much cheaper solution.

We recommend and use HG Mould spray - link below. Its very potent so use this with a mask in a well ventilated area. You simply spray it on, leave it 15 minutes and the mould disappears! For bad areas it may need repeated. Once it has gone, wash down the area with something suitable (soapy water works well) and buff dry with a tea towel. If its on a wall then it may be an idea to repaint the affected area with a stain blocker paint to stop any spores coming through.
